OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM

President and Executive Director

Board of Directors

Board of directors is a critical component of corporate governance and leadership, and their actions and decisions can profoundly impact the organization's success and reputation. Here are some of the roles and responsibilities that we have to further explore while working with Chira Global Development Organization:

  • Financial Oversight: The board ensures the organization's financial stability. This involves reviewing and approving budgets, financial reports, and financial strategies. You make sure that CHIRA uses its financial resources wisely and complies with legal and ethical standards.

  • Policy and Regulation: The board plays a vital role in establishing and monitoring the organization's policies and regulations. You must ensure that our policies are up-to-date and that employees follow them. This is crucial for maintaining transparency and accountability.

  • Decision-Making: We meet regularly to make critical decisions regarding the CHIRA's operations. This includes strategic planning, major initiatives, and responding to important issues. These decisions guide the organization's direction and growth.

  • Supervision: Board members supervise various aspects of CHIRA’s work. This oversight extends to meetings, agendas, and day-to-day matters. It helps ensure that the organization operates within the boundaries of the law and adheres to ethical standards.

  • Support and Volunteering: Beyond your supervisory roles, you may contribute more by volunteering your time and expertise to support our programs, participating in our planning committees, … etc. This active engagement can enhance the organization's effectiveness and excellence.

Board of Advisors

Our advisory board is an invaluable asset to our organization, providing guidance and expertise to our executive director and board members. The goal is to target individuals with diverse backgrounds, community activists and organizers, business leaders, and scholars who will bring more knowledge, skills, and organization, and resources to help us navigate our challenges and seize more opportunities. The advisory board typically convenes as needed, with meetings occurring a few times a year to monthly. Importantly, their role is consultative, and they do not possess voting rights on our board.

Key Responsibilities of the Advisory Board

  • Providing Expertise: Advisory board members offer their expert knowledge to shape our programs, committees, and strategic decisions.

  • Broadening Management Knowledge: They enrich our organization's management capabilities by sharing their valuable experiences and insights.

  • Enhancing Credibility: The advisory board's presence enhances our credibility with clients, the community, supporters, and donors, ultimately solidifying our reputation.

  • Networking: Advisory board members help us expand our network by introducing us to new connections, including foundations, agencies, and other entities. This can lead to beneficial partnerships and collaborations.

  • Strategic Advice: They offer valuable strategic advice on our mission, vision, goals, values, partnerships, donors, and collaborations, providing crucial support to our executive director and board members.

  • Supporting Growth: Advisory board members play a pivotal role in our growth and prosperity by providing fresh perspectives and diverse experiences.

  • No Legal Responsibility: In contrast to our board of directors, advisory board members do not bear legal responsibilities or possess voting rights. They are not employees of our organization and are not involved in policy creation or financial decision-making.

Selecting Advisory Board Members

When selecting advisory board members, we prioritize their dedication to community prosperity, their expertise, knowledge, and their commitment to our organization's success.

Compensation

Advisory board members contribute their time and expertise voluntarily and will not receive compensation for their work with CHIRA.

In Conclusion,

Our advisory board is a cornerstone of our organization's growth and our unwavering commitment to better serve the Lincoln community. It is our second social circle around CHIRA. Your support and expertise are invaluable in helping us fulfill our mission. Thank you for your dedication to our cause.
